Iris Medina-Elston
Iris Medina-Elston is a repeat founder with over a decade of experience in operations, agile transformation, and organizational efficiency.
She holds an MBA from Georgia Tech and a Master of Public Administration from California State University, East Bay, a combination that reflects the two things she cares most about: building businesses that run well, and building a world that works better for everyone in it.
She founded Honest Metrics in 2019 as an operational efficiency and agile transformation firm, and in 2023 began integrating AI into client engagements, as a practical tool for building leaner, more resilient businesses.
She also founded Carter Wade, an investor-backed, PETA-Approved Vegan luxury handbag brand. Every bag is handmade in New York City and Italy, crafted without harming animals, exploiting people, or contributing to the waste cycles that define most of the fashion industry.
Carter Wade is the proof of concept for everything Honest Metrics believes: that building responsibly and building well are not competing goals.
Iris has spent her career focused on systems, technology, and efficiency, and she brings that same lens to how she looks at AI. But she also believes that AI comes with real consequences we can't look away from, including the energy and water it takes to run the data centers behind it, and she thinks the way most people are learning to use AI right now doesn't take that seriously enough.
